On a secluded bank of the Western Ramganga River lies one of the most remote wildlife lodges in northern India. Accessible only by a 2km cross-country walk and raft across the river waters, Vanghat lodge has been exclusively crafted for wildlife enthusiasts who wish to explore Tiger country on foot with some of the most superb local trackers and experienced guides.

'Vanghat' translates from Hindi to mean 'forest on the river. In fact, ‘Riverine Woods’ is a name that is sometimes used for the lodge. It can be hard to determine where the woodland ends and the lodge begins. Surrounded by the wildlife of the Kalagarh Tiger Reserve, itself part of the larger Corbett Tiger Reserve and situated on an important wildlife hotspot, the lodge is host to all manner of iconic and rare species. Conservation and a minimised environmental footprint are central to our ethos and we are proud to say we are a lodge run by naturalists for naturalists. Vanghat is famed for its warm hospitality as well as its walking safaris, birding, mammal tours and world class mahseer fishing, all accompanied by expert local guides. We are most happy to combine your stay with us along with overnight stays at famed forest bungalows inside Corbett National Park such as Dhikala, Bijrani, Malani, Sarapduli and Gairal.
