This part of the Kumaon Lake Region, home to a large variety of flora, fauna and aquatic life, has always attracted bird-watchers, butterfly-collectors and nature lovers as well as writers in search of solitude and city-dwellers seeking to renew their spirits.

Himalaica N
Come experience what is reputed to be the best luxury retreat in the Himalayas! The warmth of our outstanding hospitality and personalised, attentive service will bring you back many-a-time, with friends and family! Himalaica, a luxury estate of a local Nainital family living just 10 km away, is a labour of love that is evident in the architecture, the interiors and the gardens. Built mostly by local craftsmen, the property achieves a unique character that seamlessly meshes a traditional country style with modern comfort – drawing its inspiration from the past, living in the present, and looking into the future. Unlike most vacation homes in the hill stations of India that remain boarded up, to be aired from time to time, Himalaica is a functioning home, with full-time staff, and a benchmark that says you will get freshly-brewed coffee anytime you walk in! Himalaica was created as a place to be, to pause and to reflect, to meditate, to remember and to forget, and to bring back the balance in our lives that is all too lost. It is often described as a place with soul, and with a spiritual, meditative quality – we believe this quality comes from the ancient temple that exists under a large oak tree on the premises, dedicated to the Earth God. The petite cottage set on a single floor houses a small sitting and dining lounge, two bedrooms, each with its own en-suite and dressing area. In addition, the guests enjoy access to the first floor of the Main Villa, which houses a large garden-side glass Conservatory, living room with fireplace, dining/meeting room, large kitchen, TV/ reading room. Rooms are well equipped with heaters and/ or bukharis to keep you warm during winters! The two bedrooms are bright and provide a snug escape from the regular life. The cottage is ideal for 4 guests, however, with extra beds can accommodate 6 guests. The guests can enjoy the idyllic views of the forests from the cottage, which has it's own private sitting area.

Urvashi's Retreat

₹7,500 / night
Urvashi R
Situated in the heart of the Bipasha valley of the Himalayan Devbhumi, the ‘Valley of the Gods’, comparatively unexplored to many, Urvashi’s Retreat has been the summer getaway for Urvashi Singh, owner of the property and her family since the past two decades. Its picturesque snow-topped mountains, rivers, wildlife, natural bounty and rich culture make it a unique destination indeed. Urvashi’s Retreat is a 6-room boutique home-stay along with a common dining room. Not only are these cottages surrounded by a panoramic mountain view, but stand on a thriving landscape furrowed by a babbling brook that meanders through the entire compound. Every aspect of the property boasts of a personalized touch that uniquely blends rusticity and splendor to create a soul-lifting getaway. Set in a style that is partially quaint and slightly edgy, the Retreat is a luxury-centric, personally crafted attempt at synthesizing nature and premium hospitality. Ever since the initiation of the Retreat, it has been a conscious effort on the part of the hosts to source locally. It is interesting to note that all the stones used in the exteriors of the homestay have been sourced from the very boulders upon which we stand. The wooden-paneling has been done using genuine, local wood, crafted by a team of Himachali carpenters themselves. This locality is situated almost a thousand feet above Manali, promises a colder climate. At the same time, owing to the broadness of the Bipasha valley, Shanag is blessed with plenty of perennial sunshine, which is unlikely in several places, especially during the winter months. The hosts are happy to extend their home, an Himalayan escape that is very close to their heart.

Seclude Palampur

This wood and slate house with deep verandahs and welcoming rooms is a true labour of love. Built using local materials and design, it is situated in an open valley, amid acres of rice and wheat fields, and watched over by the majestic Dhauladhar mountain range. Each room has large windows from where the view changes from season to season, day to day, hour to hour. During the monsoons, the shimmering green of newly sprouting rice is reflected in the water in which they are planted. Spring brings rippling fields of golden wheat, ready to be harvested. For most of the year, the mountains are luminous white, the snow shining where it is lit by the sun. The mountains disappear on cloudy days, just peeking now and then through the mist, only to appear in their full grandeur, almost magically, after a downpour. In the evenings one can actually listen to the sounds of silence, magnified by chirping of crickets and cicadas, and watch fireflies dance against the backdrop of a clear, starlit sky.

Latoda Eco Lodge

₹7,999 / night

Before visiting Latoda Eco Lodge, we should know about the Geographic status here. Latoda Eco Lodge is a delightful eco-friendly cottage nestled in the lap of nature in the beautiful Valley called Jibhi Valley. Jibhi Valley is a small village in district Kullu, which is situated on both sides of a small river here. This river, whose Puranic name is Pushpabhadra, is the origin of this beautiful little river Pushpabhadra from the Jalori Pass which is situated about 10280 feet above sea level. This river is the only river in Himachal Pradesh, in which no hydro project is formed. This river merges with the Tirthan River in Banjar and gets its name Tirthan. In today's context, this river is called Tirthan. The Tirthan river originates from a place called Tirthan in the Tirthan valley. Teerth means a holy place. Therefore, the river Teerthan originates from a sacred place which also has its own history. Nowadays, pilgrimage is becoming famous all over the world and people of all days come to visit here. Another purpose of tourists coming is the Great Himalayan National Park spread in the jibhi and tirthan valley, which has been declared as UNESCO World Heritage since 2014. The Great Himalayan National Park is spread in 572 square kilometers of nature-rich forest and here is a park located in a small village. We will discuss about it separately. Right now we are only talking about the Latoda Eco Lodge located in the Jibhi Valley and the beautiful Valley around it. Latoda Eco Lodge is not simply a cottage or just a home stay. The specialty of this cottage is that it has been made by the family here itself, the Latoda family has designed its architecture, bedding, washroom furniture all by themselves, The cottage is made of wood. And the chief of the Latoda Eco Lodge family, Mr. Teja Singh, has built this cottage himself. Mr. Teja Singh has spent his entire life designing the houses of wood i.e. Kathkuni Shelley. He has built more than 80 wooden houses so far, and Latoda Eco Lodge is his last project, and now Mr. Teja Singh is working on this project only. Today, students come to learn this art from him from different countries and for internship. The marketing work of Latoda Eco Lodge is looked after by Chief Founder Member Jagdish Thakur, a skilled guide with a master's degree in tourism himself and a young entrepreneur with full knowledge of the entire Himachal Pradesh. Jagdish Thakur started the work of Latoda Eco Lodge in Jibhi in the year 2011 and believes that whenever a tourist comes to you, he should be made familiar with the geography, people, culture, food and drinks of that place. There should be provided correct information about the history and various other facts of the place. Jagdish Thakur himself keeps this information and also shares this information with his tourists. Then tourists from all over the country and abroad come to hear stories about the area of Jagdish. The hosts Mr. Teja Singh and Jagdish Thakur's younger brother Yagya Thakur and his wife Phula Devi, whose food is remembered by every tourist staying here today. Yagya Thakur is a commerce graduate himself and is looking after the comforts and food of the visitors at Latoda Eco Lodge today. Yagya Thakur with his wife Phula takes good care of the tourists staying here, and tries to fulfil every demand of the tourist by saying only “YES sir”. Seeing their behavior and work efficiency, all tourists know them by the name of one man army. Today Latoda Eco Lodge is a well known name in Jibhi Valley. Even though in JIBHI, many more beautiful hotels and cottages have been built, but the name of Latoda Eco Lodge has become more popular. The reason for this is that the family of Latoda Eco Lodge is completely involved in the tourism business themselves and take good care of their guests. You feel comfortable in Latoda Eco Lodge, and feeling like a house stays inside you, so you want to spend more and more time here. Latoda Eco Lodge is a beautiful eco-friendly cottage in the middle of oak, walnut and pine trees. From the Latoda Eco Lodge, you can easily go for a jungle walk, from here, the water fall is also at a walking distance, which is located at a distance of about 1 km. Jalodi Pass is just 11 km from Latoda Eco Lodge. Bahu 9 km, Chehni Fort 9 km. and the local market is also 1-2 km. When you visit Jibhi or Latoda Eco Lodge from any city in India, Jagdish Thakur is available with you 24 as an assistant. A remote tour guide stays with you to help you to avoid any inconvenience on the way such as closure of the road, delay, loss of track, etc.
